Here we list a variety of podcasts on the topic that feature discussion from scholars who work in the topic in relevant fields, such as historical linguistics, folklore studies, and archaeology and so forth. This resource will be updated over time.

Brute Norse Podcast

USA & NORWAY

Equal parts funny, educational, and bizarre, Norwegian academic and artist Eirik Storesund's podcast takes two general forms: a. Carefully and unexpectedly presented and well-researched podcast essays often focused on Old Norse mythology and related topics, and b. interviews with scholars that here and there even break big news. While you're at it be sure to also check out Storesund's Troll Cat Press for even more excellent explorations of this material.

Grimfrost Podcast

USA & Sweden

This is the only podcast on this list not operated by small and independent creators. To date exclusively featuring discussions with scholars, this podcast is an effort by Grimfrost, a company co-founded by Johan Hegg of the band Amon Amarth. Today Grimfrost is owned by Embracer Group, a Sweden-based corporation.

The History of Vikings

Hosted by Noah Tetzner, this Viking Age-focused podcast features episodes with scholars such as Carolyne Larrington and Tom Shippey.

Sweden

A Scandinavian folklore-focused podcast featuring Lars Wahlström; Eva Boström; and folklorist Tommy Kuusela (Institute for Language and Folklore), listeners will encounter heavy overlap here with Viking Age studies and Old norse mythology.

Daniel Farrand's extremely prolific Nordic Mythology Podcast regularly features a variety of scholars active on the topic of Old Norse mythology. The style here is casual and conversational, providing unique insight into the minds behind many of the very formal studies we see on these topics.
