“sorte muld embrace”

Traditionally Letter-pressed Postcard

This gorgeous, Seattle-made 4"x6" postcard features a Viking Age Swedish archaeological find (mysterious gold foil depictions known as a "Guldgubber") combined with a sweet message to a lover (or perhaps wishful thinking!) found on a runic inscription in Bryggen, Norway (13th century).

The historic find and runic inscription are carefully explained on side B of the card by Joseph S. Hopkins and Mathias Nordvig (University of Colorado, Boulder).
